Holistic Therapy for OCD

OCD is more common than you think!

Did you know…

1 in 50 people experience OCD symptoms at some point in their life.

2-3 million people in the USA experience OCD.

For some people, internal and external compulsions can take up to 10 hours a day. OCD doesn't just affect the individual, but can impact their family, friends, work, and social life. It doesn't discriminate - OCD affects people from all races, religious groups, nationalities, and ethnic groups.

The World Health Organization identifies OCD as one of the top ten causes of disability in the world.

Join us in a virtual 6-part consultation series designed specifically for healthcare providers seeking a fresh and innovative approach to treating OCD. This series is ideal for those who have a foundational understanding of evidence-based therapy for OCD.

You will learn the core components of OCD treatment, enhanced by your own experiential learning through group discussion and active participation. Through the guidance of Dr. Andrea Millen, we will begin with a grounding and centering embodiment practice, serving as the starting point for the rest of the session. In addition to receiving personalized feedback and support on case conceptualization and intervention strategies, you will be equipped with materials to review and contemplate between our meetings.

Dr. Millen's therapeutic approach blends elements of ERP, Inference-based CBT, ACT, and mind-body practices, all rooted in a compassionate approach. This series provides a unique opportunity for you to deepen your understanding of OCD treatment through hands-on learning and reflection.

Throughout the sessions, Dr. Millen will provide:

  • A comprehensive overview of OCD as well as evidence-based therapy, including exposure-based therapy (ERP) and inference-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (I-CBT).

  • Space to explore the integration of embodiment and compassion approaches as an adjunct components to OCD therapy.

  • Insights into the impact and prevalence of trauma and comorbidity with OCD, societal stigma associated with certain obsessive themes, and differentiating OCD from other anxiety disorders.

  • Assessment tools and forms to aid in initial treatment planning sessions.

  • Methods for constructing an exposure / ”courage” map.

  • A guide to conducting effective exposures.

  • Ways to encourage clients to participate in exposures and explore their OCD narratives.
